Hosting a truly exciting & extremely prestigious Celebration Sunday is
Kavita! Best known for presenting B4U she brings a real touch of glamour to
Middlesbrough Mela 2010!
6.15pm: HunterZ
We welcome our headline act, HunterZ, one of the most accomplished Asian
artistes in the UK. Indian classically music trained, HunterZ has proved
worthy of his excellent family pedigree, whilst forming his own sound
heavily influenced by his love of western Funk, Soul, Rock, Hip-Hop and R&B.
The ‘Most Wanted’ album released in 2003 propelled him on to the
international stage, his reputation strengthened through the 2008 release of
his much-awaited album ” The Masterpiece” and spawning the massive hit
single ” Tere Bin Dil Mera Lagda Na”.
6.00pm Signature
Signature need no introduction following their much celebrated appearance on
Britain’s Got Talent in 2008. In homage to Michael Jackson, Signature
combine Jackson’s lyrics & dance style with traditional Bhangra beats &
Punjabi folk dance to create their own stylish act. Having missed them last
year, we’re thrilled to welcome them this year to the 2010 Middlesbrough
Mela!
5.30pm AG Dolla plus special guest
An East African Asian bi-lingual rapper, AG Dolla’s street-wise mentality &
confidence, give him a unique, cutting edge sound. Much respected, he’s
become a revered role model to his vast following of fans. He perform in
Middlesbrough with a special guest artist.
5.00pm Rana Sahota
Hot, fresh Bhangra artist Rana Sahota presents tracks from his much
anticipated debut album Khadke Glassy. Nephew of Palvinder Dhami (Heera),
this teen sensation is influenced by his world-famous uncle also bringing
his own passion, thoughtful lyrics and dance floor grooves to the party!
4.30pm Aron B
In 2009 Aron B’s vocals featured on the track ‘I Just Wanna’ which gathered
a huge fan base, leading to performances to crowds around the United Kingdom
and a nomination for Best Newcomer at the UK Asian Music Awards, 2010. Watch
out for his brand new single, ‘ Be My Baby ‘.
4.15pm UK Shox
UK Shox first hit the scene 2 years ago & are already set to take over the
music scene pushing boundaries with their exclusive style of music, a potent
mix of Punjabi, Hip Hop, Urdu & Hindi. A phenomenal talent!
4.00pm Punjabi No 1
Return to thrill you. Dance! Dance! Dance!
3.30pm ShantiTown
Transcending stereotypes, ShantiTown is about fusion and experimentation,
combining the musical drive and energy of western rock with the lyrical
poignancy of Indian and world music genres. ShantiTown believes that music
is about real musicians playing live instruments responding to that electric
atmosphere of their live audience.
3.00pm Nasir Khan
Nasir Khan has made his mark on the British Asian music scene in a very
short time. His album “Yakeen” has received global acclaim with the title
track being the hit of 2009. Qawwali, Ghazal, Pop, Bhangra or film, Nasir is
comfortable with them all!
2.15pm Nazmoon Nahar Tanni
Known as Tanni & born in Bangladesh, Tanni sings all forms of songs
including modern Bengali, Hindi & Urdu, her own favourite being Nazrul Geeti
& Bengali Classical songs.

1.45pm Punjabi No 1
Sensational! Powerful! Dynamic! This diverse dance group of explosive
performers are all professionals aged between 17and 22. The group was
originally created to promote Punjabi culture and now bring vibrant skills
from a variety of performing arts backgrounds, fusing techniques from South
Indian, Rajasthani, Bollywood and Bhangra performance with Hip-Hop forms.
1.30pm Lilas La Fleur
Born and raised in Paris (France) of Congolese parentage, Lilas is a gifted
local musician with exceptional talent. Her music, influnced by Beyonce
Knowles, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey is positive, her songs inspired
from her own personal experiences.
1.00pm Dance Factory North East
This new and innovative dance company, Dance Factory North East, is based in
Teesside. It gives training and workshops in Street and Contemporary Dance
to any young people with the enthusiasm to dance! So join in and join up!
12.30pm Robson Irish Dance Group
12.15pm DJ Bilks
Playing us through the day is the fantastic DJ Bilks, part of the Prestige
DJs who prides himself on delivering original music using diverse influences
in his big Bhangra beats. He’s presented on Panjab and Desi Radio and
released the albums The Prestigious Touch and The Sweet & Sexy Album
featuring Punjabi Hit Squad and RDB.
