Tanni
Nazmoon Nahar Tanni (popularly known as Tanni) was born in Bangladesh in a family with a tradition of love for music and culture. Her late father Gulam Idris Khan was a well-known enlisted lyrics writer and singer of Bangladesh TV & Radio.
Her inspiration for music initiated from her father at a very early age. At the age of five she has performed Bangladesh TV’s famous “Natun Kuri” programme for children. But her first solo performance was held at the age of eight with Bangladesh Shilpa Kala Academy. Her actual musical career was started under the guidance of Ustad Anup Barua and Ustad Suman Chowdhury.
Tanni was a regular singer of Bangladesh TV and Radio. She sings all forms of songs including modern Bengali, Hindi and Urdu songs but her favourite is to sing Nazrul Geeti and Bengali Classical songs. Academically she has received the first class degree in Nazrul Geeti and Classical music from the “Chhayanot University”, Dhaka,
Bangladesh in 2003.
As one of the most popular vocalists she has performed in a number of leading musical programmes in Bangladesh and UK and is admired by her audience for her melodious singing qualities.
